The tugboat wreck has been sitting on the ocean floor for more than 20 years, during which time it has been magnificently overgrown by lovely corals and is home to a variety of colourful fish. At a depth of 5 metres, the wreck is clearly visible from the surface.

The cost of the trip includes drinking water as well as the use of the snorkels and goggles that are available on board.

Beautiful, secure lagoon with a Caribbean Sea outflow, the Spanish Water. It is situated east of Willemstad on Curaçao\'s southeast coast. It is a true Mecca for water sports. Numerous picturesque coves and little islands with coral reefs and mangrove plants may be found on the north side. Around the Spanish Water, you may also discover a number of sailing schools, yacht clubs, and charming waterfront taverns. It is perfect for sloop exploration.

The views of Table Mountain, Seru Boca, and Kabrietenberg are always stunning from the Spanish Water. The hills around the Spanish Water are home to a considerable number of Dutch villas. On the site of a former plantation, you can also discover the Jan Sofat district, a posh residential neighborhood. Pelicans, frigate birds, as well as several other bird species, turtles, and a variety of fish, may all be found in and near the Spanish Water.

There is a bay to the east of the Spanish water that gets its name from resembling a fish trap. The port at Fuikbaai used to be its most prominent feature. Here, cement is still being transported and unloaded along with other raw materials and construction supplies. The bay is situated on Table Mountain\'s quarry. Phosphate was also collected from Table Mountain here at the start of the 20th century, but the source has since gone out. The settlement of Nieuwpoort, where the quarry employees of the era lived and worked, is believed to have existed at this time. Fuikbaai is well known for the legendary boat party that takes place there every first Sunday of the year, whereas Nieuwpoort is now a deserted ghost town.

We have been going to Fuikdag every year since 2006, and during that time we experienced the party develops from a tiny gathering of boats to a very commercial event with huge barges with DJs, ships packed with revellers, and water taxis. The government outlawed these operations in 2015, and no further licenses were given out. A party that spontaneously happens, Fuikdag lacks structure.

Everyone departs on a boat towards Fuikbaai on the first Sunday of the year and anchors there. The celebration may start after the boats are organized into rows. On the days surrounding Fuikdag, there are also a lot of parties every year. These events frequently feature well-known DJs and performers, who are frequently spotted spinning records on fuik day. No one follows the same program, yet this is what makes it so distinctive.

A little fuik day called FuikYou has been held three times a year since 2018. March, June, and September are often the times when this occurs. If you happen to be on the island at that time, these gatherings are nevertheless fun to experience despite being less packed.
